PURPOSE
Physicians must be knowledgeable regarding how to avoid being reported to the Medical Board. They must also understand the Medical Board's role and responsibilities for physician oversight including, reviewing and investigating complaints, issuing sanctions, and imposing disciplinary action when a physician violates licensure and statutory regulations. This program will provide physicians with information on the types of complaints and issues that most frequently prompt the Medical Board to send a letter of inquiry and investigation to a physician. The session will include 805.8 mandatory reporting requirements and discuss the appropriate process to follow when responding to a letter from the Medical Board.
